I love this time of year. Plain and simple. It’s filled with love, magic, and nostalgia that feeds the soul better than even the tastiest of comfort foods. But this year feels especially emotional. We’ve now been in our new house for just over a year. We’ve made Charleston home and have added sweet Cam to our crew. One year and so much change.
As I think back on the day we got our tree last year, I am reminded of a two-year-old toddling around the farm as I waddled along with my growing belly. Without pause, I instantly fast forward to next year and imagine us chasing Cam through the maze of green and Ayden standing even taller next to our family tree. It takes a conscious effort to slow my brain down. There’s the emotional part. Because it’s all happening so fast. But for today, I will be present and soak up what is right in front of me. A three-year-old who wants the biggest tree we can find, eats fudge pops when its cold outside, and willingly tests out the tree location with his arms stretched high. A 10-month-old with the sweetest giggle, a need to touch (and eat) everything, and still adores being worn close to daddy’s chest.
So here it is. Today.
Thanks for following the circle around. I can’t wait to share what we are cooking up for 2017! But in the mean time, click over to see what Holly of The Time Keeper has been up to this past month.
Melissa Hines - Oh this is perfect!! I really love the memories you captured and the awesome framing you used!!!
Angee - Oh my gosh! I couldn’t love this more. Sometimes I wish we could get a real tree just for photo opps like these! My allergies can’t stand a real tree in the house. 🙁
Holly - What a gorgeous story you told here! Looks like it was a wonderful day!
Eve - Fantastic everyone…single…one!!!! Love how you documented such a great family moment!
