I still feel like it’s the beginning of the year and yet summer is days away. More than ever I have this frantic sense of wishing everything would slow down. The changing seasons, our crazy pace of life, and the two little boys I have the honor of calling mine.
But every once in a while I am reminded that I have the power to make a choice each day. I can hold Ayden in a tight squeeze just a few moments longer. I can stop cleaning the kitchen and run out the door to flag down the ice cream truck. I can rock Cam until my heart is ready to say goodnight. We can stay in our pajamas just a little bit longer. We can stay up half an hour later to laugh together on the porch once the boys are asleep. It’s like found time without any hours being added to the day. But it’s a choice. A choice to love a little bit more and do a little bit less. A choice I am finding I am happy to make.
