Finally! My website is up and I can’t think of a better family to begin my blogging journey with than this one.
Back in August I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with the Harris family. I was greeted at the door by a lovely little lady in pink with just the right amount of mischievous twinkle in her eyes. I was invited inside and told that mama (my beautiful cousin-in-law) was in the nursery with their new family member. I quickly got my camera out and headed back to see the room that I knew would have just the right touches, as this boy comes from a long line of creatives. And then…there he was! One of the most beautiful babies I have ever met, and with a full head of uh-mazing hair. I’m not kidding y’all, people spend big money for locks like this! And although he was perfect in every way, I was immediately struck by his mother’s grace. She radiated joy and handled sweet Baby Sam effortlessly. And as a couple, these parents seemed to have already mastered the delicate dance of a toddler and baby household. They spent the afternoon playing, staring at their new miracle, and barefoot walking their little street. It was perfectly imperfect. And yet I knew that this family had experienced the most difficult of times not long ago. So how did they get here? I will never truly know, but I can tell you that love and faith are at the core. And this new life has blessed them in so many ways. I feel honored to know them and privileged to call them family. And pray that they will let me come back with my camera once again because let’s face it, people who look like this need to be photographed, right?
Thank you for sharing your day with me, Harris Family! I went home with a little bit more love and faith than I arrived with, and for that I am grateful.
