Today was my birthday and it was the best one yet.  You gave me extra love, sang your best happy birthday, and helped me blow out my candles.  Since having brought you into the world, I have a different appreciation for birthdays.  My birthday now feels more like a day to celebrate my mom and the day she became a mother. P.S.  I hope you will always color clouds orange if that’s what feels right to you, my sweet boy.

Today we went to the zoo with your very best friend, Wyatt.  You pretty much spent the day running from animal to animal.  You would look, take it in, and run to the next.  We couldn’t keep up with you.  Even Wyatt had to bring you back to us a few times.  And although it made for a quick moving adventure, I loved seeing your joy for all things in this world. Thank you for bringing us to your zoo, Smith Family.  We love you!
